After a difficult 2022, Chloe Jones has changed teams and is now riding for SymCirrus MotorSport in the British Junior SuperSport championship. The colour scheme is absolutely mint by the way! one of nine girls starting the season in this class, Chloe is in with a shout of podiums before the end of the season - so I'll be following her progress through the year to see if that prediction comes true.
Please do follow Chloe's progress and show your support on her social media channels on Facebook at /chloejonesracing15 on Instagram @chloejonesracing and on Twitter @chloejonesrac15. 2023 R8: donington park
I've been trying to capture as good a images as I can of Chloe for a number of years now. I think from way back and her first season in the BSB paddock. As you can see, it's been that long that she's started looking to see where I'm standing now!
After the highs of the podium at Oulton, the sketchy conditions at Donington Park proved to be difficult with a 14th in race one, and a much improved 7th place finish in race two.
No season closer at Brands Hatch for this class, so Donington Park was the end of the 2023 season for the last running of the British Junior SuperSport championship, which has brought some of the best racing over the race weekend through the seasons. It's also brings a curtain down on a championship where Chloe Jones was the only female racer to ever finish on the podium in this series.
Now - on to 2024 and to see what's in store....
2023 R7: oulton park
This is what it's all about.
The emotion of a successful race is second to none. Chloe was absolutely buzzing here, and the look of joy, happiness and pride on her Dad's face here is quite literally a picture.
Sometimes, taking photographs at the races it's not always the track action which make the best shots. They can look amazing, and I've take a fair few which I've been quite pleased with. However, it's these candid shots of what it means to the riders and their loved ones which always mean the most to me.
Such a proud honour to be present to be able to get a memory of this historic and emotional moment.
2023 R7: oulton park
A weekend to remember for Chloe, where she was on the pace all weekend in every session. 6th in both Free Practice and the Qualifying session, Chloe finished 5th in Race 1, but it was a group finish where anyone could have won.
Sunday and Race 2 and Chloe wasn't going to get caught in a mass finish this time. Ted Wilkinson was able to make a bit of a break from the main group, and Chloe was the only one of the followers to be able to bridge the gap. The two leaders exchanged the lead a number of times as the skies darkened, the the first drops of rain started to fall. Lining up for a last lap challenge, Chloe was thwarted by a red flag due to the rain getting heavier which denied her a first win.
However, the second place finish was Chloe's first podium of her top level career, and she's the only female to EVER finish on the podium in the British Junior SuperSport championship. Something to be very proud of.
2023 R6: brands hatch
Race 1 was postponed due to track conditions, meaning two races in a day on the main Sunday.
By the standard Chloe has set this season, she got out the wrong side of the bed, with a P20 in the morning race 1, and a slightly better P15 in the afternoon race 2.
Onwards to Thruxton!
2023 R5: snetterton
Working well with her team-mates, Chloe secured another front row start in P3 for the first race of the weekend, and was running P4 and looking strong. Then, after being hit by another rider who was attempting an insane move on the inside where there was no room, which knocked her back down the field. Regardless, Chloe regrouped and fought her way back up to a P4 finish and yet another P2 start on the grid.
Race 2 was looking soooo good, until a rider fell right in front leaving Chloe and one or two others with absolutely nowhere to go, resulting in a DNF.
2023 R4: donington park (WSBK)
A return to Donington Park to support the World Superbike round.
Tricky conditions saw Chloe qualify P26, but she got a great start in Race 1, found where her elbows are, and got through to P10 by lap 2 and right with the front pack. However, keen to progress, and quicker than those in front, she folded the front going for a move on the outside of McCleans.
Race 2 had a repaired bike start from P10 on the grid and a 8th place finish. Not a bad result for a beaten up bike, and a hairline crack on Chloe's elbow from the Race 1 off.
2023 R3: kockhill
Knockhill, I think, was where Chloe started showing how she's a strong front runner in this championship this year. I think her own confidence started to step up a notch or two as well. An 11th place start for Race 1 was maintained in the race with an 11th place finish. However, Chloe bagged a front row start for Race 2 due to posting the second fastest lap of the race.
Battling with the leaders for most of the race, another rider hit her on the start/finish straight which forced her to hit the grass. Thankfully holding on, however, to finish 8th. Elbows out, and the podium form is there!
2023 R2: donington park
Two races, and Chloe was battling with the front group in both races. Starting to mix it, and the on-track aggression is starting to show through. Those elbows starting to come out, so over the next couple of rounds I'm hoping we see Chloe getting close to challenging for those podiums which are within her reach.
A 7th in race one after the race was stopped due to a red flag, and another 7th in race two. So that's pretty consistent, right?!! Chloe now goes 8th in the championship.

2023 R1: Silverstone
New season, new bike, new team, new championship, new leathers, new crash helmet. New Chloe Jones!
Really strong qualifying for Chloe and a 5th place spot on the grid for Race 1. Was running strongly in 4th for a few laps, but after a couple of minor issues lost the tow and dropped to 13th. Race 2 saw an improvement to 12th despite missing out on catching the front group.
First weekend of the year, and Chloe will be elbows out at the next round, especially if she has another good qualifying session! Great start to the year.
